If the Bible is so important, why is it such a struggle to read? The truth is, many Christians have been inadvertently set up for failure with the Bible. We need to hit the 'reset' button. Glenn Paauw, Paul Caminiti, and Alex Goodwin from the Institute for Bible Reading host discussions that break down misguided assumptions about the Bible, offering fresh perspectives on reading and living it well.

This podcast is dedicated to those who haven't read the bible. I haven't. In fact I'm reading it as i'm recording this podcast. Thoughts do come up, some thoughtful, some philosophical, but almost always dumb. The goal is to read the bible cover to cover and have a few laughs at the expense of "The Good Book" and maybe the greater world around us. Not intended to belittle, but to just have some fun with what I am reading as I am reading it.

In The Bible in a Year podcast, Fr. Mike Schmitz walks you through the entire Bible in 365 episodes, providing commentary, reflection, and prayer along the way. Unlike any other Bible podcast, Ascension’s Bible in a Year podcast follows a reading plan inspired by The Great Adventure Bible Timeline, a ground-breaking approach to understanding salvation history developed by renowned Catholic Bible scholar Jeff Cavins. For each period in the timeline, Jeff will join Fr. Mike for a special episo ...

The Bible and Beyond podcast is a series of interviews with scholars who are able to unlock mysteries from extra-canonical books, forgotten scriptures, so-called 'gnostic' gospels, as well as the Bible. Host Shirley Paulson, Ph.D., and her guests explore historical and spiritual questions about Jesus, gender, women, salvation, healing, and the meaning of life. The discoveries these scholars share don’t always fit with what we've been told, but time and again they lead us toward a deeper inti ...

After every episode, there are questions to help parents have meaningful, faith-based conversations with their kids. Learn mo ...

Have you read through the whole Bible? That’s what Pastor Colin Smith challenged his church to do a few years ago. Many had tried this before and failed, but this time two things would be different. First, they would do it together, providing encouragement and accountability. Second, Colin would preach each Sunday from the Bible book they were reading. More than 1400 people made that commitment almost 75% of the church. Now we have the joy of inviting you to Unlock The Bible for yourself as ...

We started this podcast to try and deal with our own brokenness. We hope that our struggles will encourage you to face and walk through whatever life throws at you. Our goal is to bring honor and glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by sharing how He has moved in our lives with others.

Join Burning Bush Ministries as we examine and dive into scripture each week. We see far too many verses taken out of context, used incorrectly, and assumed to mean things other than they truly are. Each Monday at 5:00 AM CST, we will take a verse from scripture, look at it in context, and learn how to accurately and biblically apply it to our lives. For a full transcript of each show, resources, and to learn more about theology and Christian doctrine, visit our website, https://burningbush. ...

Jesus tells his "friends" not to be afraid “of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him” (Luke 12:4–5). The Gospel demands that we examine not only our loves, but our fears. We are to love …

Today, Johnnie Moore of PragerU explains to us why he thinks you should read the bible to your kids. And while I disagree with his reasoning, it would be hypocritical of me to have a podcast where I literally do exactly that while saying I don't think you should. When things go radically wrong in a culture, the problems often become intertwined. Two of the strands are twisted together in Micah 2:6–11. The passage begins and ends with a warning against false prophets, but in the middle of the oracle is Amos’s ongoing denunciation of the powerful people who are stripping bare the powerless (Micah 2:8–9). Begi…

NEHEMIAH 12-13In yesterday’s chapters in Nehemiah, we heard the names of the various religious and civil leaders who signed the statement of commitment to follow Moses’ Law, which was almost certainly penned by Ezra. Then there was a listing of the various leaders and clans that volunteered or were chosen by lot to live in Jerusalem. ISAIAH 40a:I a…

“Pick me, pick me!” I remember longing so much to be picked and being seemingly invisible, unseen. I still can feel that pain from time to time. But being seen by the God Who sees us and chooses us is a priceless heritage that heals all rejection we face on this earth. Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 25-26 Scripture Verse of the Day: Deuteronomy 26:18…

The opening lines of Micah 1 show that this prophet served in the second half of the eighth century B.C. Initially, mighty Assyria was dormant, and the twin kingdoms of Israel and Judah flourished. Israel expanded its territory under Jeroboam II. This book records the vision that Micah saw “concerning Samaria and Jerusalem” (the two capital cities,…

Mike breaks down Saul's miraculous conversion, explaining the significance of Jesus sending Ananias to heal Saul, and how it reveals that Jesus works through his Church just as powerfully as he worked through the incarnation. Fr. Mike also reminds us that if we belong to the Lord, we will have to participate in his suffering. Lastly, as we conc…
