Pixel Beat is a video game music playlist-style podcast featuring music from both old and new games. Each episode features a collection of tracks based on an idea, theme or genre. The show will become a collection of great video game music playlists that allow the music to shine on its own.

Every month, Ben Cartlidge and Michiel Kroder take a look at the same month in a random year from the last two decades of the 20th century. They discuss what video games were popular in the arcades of that moment in time, but also what was going on in popular culture and the world around us, from a joint UK and Netherlands perspective.

Goobz & Toby pick one retro video game each episode to play. They discuss the history, story, game play, music, fun facts, then rate it at the end from 1-10. The goal is to see which old games hold up today and maybe see if some of our favorites are only good due to nostalgia. The guys mostly play games on NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, SEGA Genesis, Playstation, PS2, and any other dead console they can get their hands on.*ADULT LANGUAGE IS USED*
