Hey Folks! Welcome to the Brief Encounter Podcast. I've been a professional drummer for over 30 years and have played with some great bands and musicians such as Picturehouse, Marianne Faithfull, Paul Brady, Glen Hansard and The Frames to name but a few.I've always been interested in what it takes to pursue an artistic endeavour and maintain longevity in a very challenging industry so I'll be interviewing artists from all walks of life.

In Brazil, the term língua da gente (literally 'language of the people') refers to the way that people actually talk in everyday speech. And that, in essence, is the object behind this series. We hope to provide practical lessons that demonstrate how people really speak, and we do this by presenting brief, slice-of-life dialogs, which focus on some daily situation, scenario, or task that we encounter every day.
 
A podcast about movies - old and new. Each episode host Olivia Tjon-A-Meeuw and a guest discuss two films in great detail: A new release followed by an older film. That might be a stone cold classic or a brand new discovery. Either way, it's a gem! Listen to figure out if any of the films are ... one for you.
