Sgt. 1st Class Elana Duffy is a retired Army interrogator & counterintelligence agent. She is a combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient, and also has a masters degree in engineering from Cornell University. Last year her piece “I Got Blown Up in Iraq. Years Later, Amputating My Leg Set Me Free,” was featured in The New York Times.
