This week's Episode of FNI Wrap Chat is with one of our favourite actors, writers and creators, Amy De Bhrún. A shining example of artistic integrity and downright hard work. This is a podcast that young creative professionals should not miss.
Amy moved to London at the age of nineteen, to pursue her actor training. She works consistently between the UK and Ireland. Amy plays the recurring role of Steph Corbett in LINE OF DUTY (BBC). Other notable roles that have been aired this year include ‘Jarl Hrolf’ in VIKINGS, ‘Pline’ in KRYPTON and ‘Meadhbh’ in THE OUTPOST. She was recently seen as Adele in CORONATION STREET (ITV) and the latest JASON BOURNE movie, alongside Matt Damon, Alicia Vikander and Tommy Lee Jones. This was a real high point to get to work alongside such fantastic Oscar winning actors and acclaimed director Paul Greengrass.
Notable TV/Film credits include: THE CURED, END OF SENTENCE, THE CROWN AND THE DRAGON, THE SOUTH BANK SHOW (ITV), CASUALTY (BBC), THE STAG, JIMI -ALL IS BY MY SIDE, PENNY DREADFUL and BRIDGET & EAMON (RTE), award winning short film GRIDLOCK and music videos for KODALINE (All I Want).
An accomplished writer – her short film AFTER received the Filmbase Funding Award and went into production January 2014, in which Amy played the female lead role. She was nominated for Best Writing and Best Performance at the Kinsale Shark Awards 2016. Most recently, she has been nominated for the Rising Star ‘Discovery’ Award at the Audi Dublin International Film Festival 2017
Her One-Woman Theatre shows (of which there are six) have been performed across Ireland, London, Los Angeles and New York City to critical acclaim. Her latest show“I SEE YOU”, inspired by the life of forgotten Irish trailblazer Lady Mary Heath, premiered in Dublin in May 2018 with a national tour in 2019. It garnered huge press interest – including the front page of The Sunday Independent, Ryan Tubridy show, The Today Show with Maura and Daithí (RTE) and The Elaine Show (Virgin Media One).
As if Amy didn't have enough to be doing, She only went and launched her own Awesome Show
"The Year of the Selfie" interviews some brilliant professional people who balance a creative and professional life. Check out Amy's podcast here:
