The Finance Minister won't rule out extending the brightline test beyond five years.
If a second house is sold within that time, the owner is taxed on the capital gain.
National asked Grant Robertson to rule it out - but he says it's too soon, and the Party's getting ahead of itself.
Robertson says they've asked Treasury for advice and it'd be premature to say anything about it yet.
This is despite Robertson ruling out any changes to the test on Heather du Plessis-Allan Drive on September 9th.
