Ever heard of drift racing? Yes, the one you must've seen in Fast & Furious movies! Today we'll be diving deep into the world of drift racing with Matt Haugen, of Haugen Racing, a pro drift car driver and custom car builder from Scottsdale, Arizona.
We discuss the sport of drift racing and what it means to be a pro drift car driver. Matt also shared his story of coming into the sport and what inspired him to jump into it with a degree in entrepreneurship.
Matt is also shifting to Japan and will soon be taking part in the Formula Drift Japan and will be creating content there for his Youtube channel. We discuss his decision and why he decided to move to Japan. Is it one of his dream, or is it for boosting his drifting career, for better content?
We also briefly touch on the subject of education in today's day and age. Is a college degree still worth it or should one choose something else to be successful? All this and a lot more in this episode!

A bit about Matt Haugen:
Matt Haugen of Haugen Racing, from Scottsdale, Arizona and was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a professional drift team driver, SEMA car builder, and content creators. He loves drifting, comedy, off-roading, building cars, and making videos!
One of his main focuses is his YouTube channel, where he uploads 5 times a week. Content includes vlogs, reaction videos, How To Drift, drifting, video games, off-roading, and more. He also has an online shop, www.Haugenracing.com where he creates automotive and Japanese inspired streetwear and accessories.
His next BIG MOVE is taking his operation overseas to Japan.
He always strives to find that perfect blend of style and functionality through the use of our vivid Yellow, Red, and Blue colors and taking inspiration from all corners of the custom car culture.
Cars have been in his blood since the day he was born. At age 16, his 2008 Toyota Tundra was his first SEMA Show car. Since then he has had over 7 vehicles in the SEMA show from including a 1 of 1 Liberty Walk Lamborghini Murcielago a 1JZ swapped Rocket Bunny 350z, dubbed the 351JZ.
He fell in love with drifting and has been pursuing that professionally since 2017. He first competed in ProAm with his Hyundai Genesis Coupe powered by a CBM 4.0L Whipple Supercharged 425ci LS3.
Besides drifting, racing and building show cars, He is a big supporter of education. He recently acquired his Masters of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Southern California.

Dr. Orest Komarnyckyj enjoyed a prestigious career as a periodontal regenerative surgeon moving to a new passion in June 2018. He retired after a 33-year career to pursue new passions. At 69 Dr. Orest has taken on a new role as an Interviewer, Podcaster and government-certified Old Guy. He streams from his new home in Las Vegas, NV. He lives with his wife of 29 years, Oksana. His status as an empty-nesters with two out of college-employed children has left him with time and energy to share decades of successes, failures, and wisdom.
