In this activity, based on a recent live symposium, experts in neurology explore the mechanisms of action of S1PR modulators approved for the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS), highlighting the similarities and differences among treatment options and reviewing the efficacy and safety data for these therapies and their potential effects on markers of treatment response or disease progression (eg, brain atrophy, neurofilament protein levels, cognitive test results). The burden, assessment, and management of cognitive impairment in MS, which occurs in over 50% of people with MS and can greatly affect patients’ functioning and quality of life, is also examined in this activity.
