Hello, and welcome to Episode 140 of the Planning Period Podcast, part of the OnPodcastMedia Network. I’m your host, Brad Shreffler.
This week on the show I am joined by Craig Randall. Craig is a former elementary and middle school counselor, college basketball coach, principal, and now an author. I heard him on Dan Kreiness’ podcast talking about his book and based on the title alone, I wanted to talk to him for the podcast.
Craig and I talk about his education journey, his work with Trust Based Observations and what it means now and for the future, how current models of observation and accountability discourage teachers from taking risk, why good leaders should be encouraging teachers to take risks and try new things in their classrooms, and how sometimes the best teachers are those that make us feel like we aren’t the only ones with a different idea.
So, sit back and enjoy Episode 140 of the Planning Period Podcast, my interview with Craig Randall.
Craig, thank you so much for joining me, for sharing your ideas about Trust Based Observations, and really letting me dive into the concept.
