It's the week of KubeCon and while everybody is doing there best to present the greatest and latest of everything surrounding this micro services architecture approach, we're going back to basics with an intro to Containers & Kubernetes, explaining what this stuff is, where it came from and why people feel it is a good idea. With great knowledge comes great power, use it wisely! When we were recording this, we found that there was really a lot to talk about, so we will be running this subject over multiple episodes over the next month or so. https://youtu.be/fUcrSVl6j2k In this part, we actually talk about Virtual Machines because many people know what they are and the recent surge of containers everywhere, is largely a attempt at solving the problems that are inherent to virtualization. For that reason it makes sense to discuss the good and the bad of virtual machines first.
