Big Tech faced the US Congress at an anti-trust hearing, with Apple’s Tim Cook, Google’s Sundar Pichai, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg facing questioning over the behaviour of their companies to corner their respective markets and potentially leading to anti-competitive behaviour and shutting out smaller start-ups and companies from innovation and survival. Big Tech argued in response that they are the engine of the economy and have provided huge benefits to people and society. Steve and Ben examine the conversation around big tech’s behaviour, position, size and impact on society, as well as revisiting Microsoft’s own anti-trust experience back at the turn of the century.
