Joseph Viery is the Principal at US Tax Advisors Group, Inc (USTAGI). He began his career as a cost segregation professional in 2008 and since has helped property owners defer or eliminate millions of dollars in income taxes by leveraging IRS compliant cost segregation studies.

Joseph is a regular presenter and podcast guest as he has a natural ability to turn a complex set of guidelines into easy-to-understand topics. He is also able to bridge the gap for independent residential real estate investors by providing an affordable modeling approach. In addition to cost segregation studies, Joseph is able to offer 179d and 45L energy tax credits as well as Research and Development (R&) tax credits.

Listen in as they discuss:

  • What is cost segregation
  • Who needs and should use cost segregation
  • Passive and active ownership in real estate
  • How to find the right cost segregation company for you
  • The IRS top seven methodologies

Joseph also shares with us what led him to found his business USTAGI and much more!

TIP OF THE WEEK

Mark: That is also my tip of the week, go to www.ustagi.com. There's a lot of information there!

Joseph: My tip is if you own any kind of investment property, please do some tax planning. Don't try and do it on your own, get somebody who knows real estate. Get a tax planner that understands, and if you have questions or he has questions then go to our website www.ustagi.com.
