Digital Intent partner and former Harvard Business School professor John Sviokla recently held the first of a series of workshops on growth and innovation in 2021. His guest was Robert Spivey, Director of Research at Valens Research, and the discussion was around how to stop punishing innovators.

Most breakthrough innovations take five years to achieve anything resembling scale. But most business cases are 3 years or less, and most corporate tenures are 5 years or less.
