Roberta Flack [05:55]
"Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye"
First Take

Roberta Flack's debut album, featuring this great take on the Leonard Cohen song. Ron Carter plays bass joins her on bass, along with Bucky Pizzarelli on guitar and Ray Lucas on drums. Released in 1969, it made it to number 1 in... 1972 thanks to the inclusion of "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" in the Clint Eastwood film Play Misty for Me.

The Hollies [10:04]
"Say It Ain't So Jo"
Five Three One - Double Seven O Four
Polydor 2442-160 1979
Hey, if it plays I'll play it. A very scritchedy scratchedy cover of Murray Head's single 1975. Yes, the album title spells out Hollies in caclulator-ese.

Thomas Dolby [13:34]
"Hyperactive!"

Capitol Records ST-12309 1984
This track made it to number 62 on the Hot 100 in 1984.

Fleetwood Mac [19:07]
"Say You Love Me"
Fleetwood Mac
Reprise MS 2225 1975
Sure it might be the season of the witch, but I'm feeling Christine a bit more at the moment. Maybe it's the banjo, I don't know. This song made it to number 11 on the Hot 100 in 1976. The album itself is multiplatinum. For those of you who need some Rhiannon in your life, check out S04E51.

Lene Lovich [23:17]
"The Night"
Flex
Stiff-Epic JE 36308 1980
A woman after my own heart. Lovich decided to record this Four Seasons number after picking up their single in a second hand shop.

Nadja [27:48]

From an album that donated all profits to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation.

Thee Oh Sees [38:10]
"Toe Cutter/Thumb Buster"
Floating Coffin

A mighty fine groove. This is the last Oh Sees album to have Petey Dammit on guitar and Mike Shoun on drums.

Sonic Youth [41:42]
"Flower"
Flower/Halloween
Homestead Records HMS047 1986
Kim Gordon laying it out. One of the last releases with orignal drummer Bob Bert.

Jimmy Cliff [48:05]
"If I Follow My Mind"
Follow My Mind
Reprise Records RRC 2218 1975
I'm not sure my mind is a right mind, but I think this is an excellent song from the living legend.

The Rays [51:57]
"Silhouettes"
Fonzie Favorites
Juke Box International TVLP-177602 1976
Huh, a creepy case of mistaken identity?

Picastro + Nadja [54:39]
"A New Soul's Benediction"
Fool, Redeemer
Broken Spine Productions BSP05 2011
A collaboration from up Toronto way with slowcore Picastro and ambient doom Nadja.

Rod Stewart [58:38]
"You're in My Heart (The Final Acclaim)"
Foot Loose & Fancy Free
Warner Bros. Records BSK 3092 1977
In which Rod compares you to his favoite football clun (Celtic Utd). I was going to go with Holland & Dozier's "You Keep Me Hangin' On" but it's nearly 8 goddamn minutes long. What the hell, dude?
